About
Mr John Targett is an orthopaedic surgeon with specialist interest in knee surgery including joint replacement, meniscal (cartilage) injuries and soft-tissue injury including cruciate ligament, and knee stability problems.
For some knee replacements Mr Targett uses the 3customised iTotal Conformis knee implants which are individually designed and manufactured for the patient, providing a perfect, customised fit that mimics the natural shape of the patient's knee.
Mr Targett completed his orthopaedic training at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, where in 1995 he gained a fellowship of Higher Orthopaedics and worked as Director of Orthopaedic Surgery in the NHS for more than five years.
Mr Targett previously held a position as Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at Basildon & Thurrock University hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust, Basildon University Hospital.
Mr Targett has a deep knowledge and experience in all aspects of knee surgery and his main aim is to ensure the best possible recovery following surgery.
