Mr Jim Fong

Mr Fong graduated from the University of Sheffield Medical School. Mr Fong's early ENT training included the allied specialities of plastic surgery and neurosurgery. Mr Fong has specialized in ENT surgery exclusively since 2002 working in several centres of excellence including the Royal Free, Charing Cross and Great Ormond Street Hospitals in London, and Queen Elizabeth and Birmingham Children’s Hospitals in the West Midlands. Mr Fong won funding from the Wellcome Trust to complete his PhD in thyroid surgery at the University of Birmingham. In 2015 Mr Fong took up his current post as a consultant in ENT and lead for head and neck cancer surgery at the Ipswich Hospital and leads the voice service at the Ipswich Hospital, as well as regularly operating on complex cases at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Mr Fong is the deputy lead for cancer at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust.
