About
Mr Hutchinson is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with more than 20 years of experience as a Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon. He has a specialist interest in lower‑limb surgery, including revision hip surgery, hip replacement in younger patients, hip resurfacing, unicompartmental knee replacement, and the management of sports‑related injuries of the hip, groin, and knee.
His pre‑clinical training was undertaken at the University of Oxford, followed by clinical training at the University of Cambridge. He subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in hip and knee surgery in Australia.
Mr Hutchinson performs more than 350 joint replacements each year, with all procedures submitted to the National Joint Registry (NJR). His NJR outcomes are consistently excellent, placing him within the top 5% of surgeons nationally for low revision rates.
He is well regarded by his patients, with numerous positive reviews on the “I Want Great Care” platform, and his work and patient outcomes have been featured in published patient articles, including Horse & Hound (May 2021).

Mr Hutchinson’s clinical expertise includes hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, the management of hip disorders, and sports‑related injuries of the hip.
He has extensive experience in complex primary joint replacement, revision hip surgery, and the treatment of periprosthetic fractures. His practice also incorporates enhanced recovery programmes, supporting patients in returning to high levels of activity following surgery.
