Mr Humza Malik is a distinguished upper gastrointestinal consultant and general surgeon, widely recognised for his expertise, precision and compassion. With a steadfast commitment to patient care, he provides safe, effective and tailored surgical solutions that combine clinical excellence with outstanding patient support, throughout their treatment journey. 

Mr Malik’s specialist expertise spans hernia repair (including recurrent and complex incisional cases), advanced abdominal wall reconstruction, gallbladder surgery, and state-of-the-art minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques designed to deliver faster recovery, reduced discomfort, and optimal outcomes.

He offers comprehensive treatment for conditions such as inguinal, femoral, umbilical and incisional hernias, gallstones, acid reflux, and other common surgical concerns. His practice also includes pioneering approaches such as the use of Botox® in complex abdominal wall repair, reflecting his dedication to innovation in surgical care.

Alongside his thriving private practice, Mr Malik serves as full-time Consultant at Homerton University Hospital, London. He is the acting Lead for Clinical Research, exploring the very latest advancements in surgical innovation, and is the Co-Director of the North East London Commercial Research Disease Centre, driving forward transformative advances in healthcare.

Academically, Mr Malik holds a PhD from Imperial College London’s world-renowned Institute of Global Health Innovation and is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics, where he contributes to shaping the future of global healthcare.

Mr Malik is a health policy researcher specialising in health system financing, evidence-based policy, and surgical practice evaluation. He completed his PhD at Imperial College London under Professor Elias Mossialos (LSE) and Lord Ara Darzi (Imperial), where his thesis, 'Low Value Care in General Surgery', developed strategies to identify and reduce low-value surgical interventions.

His research, published in the British Journal of Surgery, has shaped national and international policy discussions, including invited presentations at NHS England/NICE, the Dubai Health Authority, and HTAi.
