About
Mr Gordan Grahovac is a Consultant Complex Spine Surgeon at King’s College Hospital, where he serves as Spine Lead and leads the complex spine service. He is recognised for delivering advanced, highly personalised care across the full spectrum of spinal conditions, with particular expertise in complex and minimally invasive surgery.
His clinical practice covers the assessment and treatment of neck and back pain, slipped discs, spinal cord compression, spinal deformity, spinal tumours, spinal infections, fractures, metastatic disease involving the spine, spinal fluid leaks, osteoporotic fractures, slipped vertebrae, and nerve-related pain such as sciatica and arm pain. He provides specialist care for patients with both common and highly complex spinal problems, combining careful diagnosis with a tailored treatment plan designed around each patient’s needs, goals, and lifestyle.
Mr Grahovac has extensive experience in
minimally invasive, navigation-guided, and robot-assisted spinal surgery. He is
dual trained in major robotic spinal systems, including Mazor and Globus
robotics, allowing him to deliver precise and modern surgical care for complex
spinal conditions. His surgical expertise includes cervical disc surgery, artificial
disc replacement, decompression, fusion, and complex reconstructive procedures.
He is also a leading surgeon for intradural
spinal tumours, with particular expertise in the management of tumours
involving the spinal cord and its surrounding coverings. In addition, he has
specialist experience in the treatment of spontaneous intracranial hypotension
and spinal fluid leak conditions, offering advanced assessment and surgical
repair where appropriate.
His practice further includes anterior lumbar surgery for the treatment of spondylolisthesis, providing stabilisation and decompression for patients with mechanical back pain and nerve compression caused by vertebral slippage. He also performs basivertebral nerve ablation for selected patients with chronic vertebrogenic low back pain, as well as tubular minimally invasive decompression procedures designed to relieve pressure on nerves while reducing tissue disruption and supporting faster recovery.
In the cervical spine, Mr Grahovac offers advanced disc replacement procedures for carefully selected patients, helping preserve movement while treating degenerative disc disease and nerve compression in the neck. His approach combines technical precision with thoughtful clinical judgement, ensuring that each procedure is recommended only when it is likely to provide meaningful benefit.
Known for his calm, meticulous approach and
commitment to excellence, Mr Grahovac provides specialist care designed to
support the best possible outcomes for each patient. His leadership at King’s
College Hospital, together with his broad expertise in complex and modern spine
surgery, places him at the forefront of advanced spinal care.
