About
Mr Dell'Aversana is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon,
specialising in retinal surgery, medical retinal conditions and cataract surgery.
He works as a full time Ophthalmologist at the NHS as well as seeing private patients at the Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital. He performs a large number of procedures every year including over 1000 cataract procedures and over 300 vitrectomies. He is also involved in training perspective general and vitreoretinal consultants.
His cataract procedures involve bilateral simultaneous cataract surgery with standard and premium lens types.
Mr Dell'Aversana qualified in medicine and surgery in Italy and undertook further subspecialty training in the UK.
He has completed 3 different fellowships in cataract surgery, medical retinal and surgical management of retinal diseases in the UK. Among these a 2-year long fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Guy’s and St. Thomas Hospital under Mr R. Wong, Mr A. Laidlaw and Professor T. Williamson.
Mr Dell’Aversana has been appointed as Cataract and Vitreoretinal Consultant at Cheltenham General Hospital.
