I was appointed as a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at Derriford Hospital in February 2017.
I specialise in all areas of vascular surgery, including aortic surgery for aneurysms, carotid surgery, lower limb vascular reconstruction, thoracic outlet syndromes, vascular access for dialysis and hyperhidrosis.
I'm an expert in venous disease and thoracic outlet syndrome and a specialist in endovascular techniques, particularly endovascular aneurysm repair.
Education
I graduated from the NTR University of Health Sciences in India and completed Basic Surgical Training in Manchester. I was a teaching fellow at Walsall Manor Hospital (2008–10) and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Birmingham University (2009–11).
I then completed higher surgical training in the East of Scotland Deanery (2010–2016). I'm also a keen educator and obtained a Master's in Medical Education from Warwick University (2014) and membership of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at RCSEd (2016).
I'm a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) and a Fellow of the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS).
Leadership
Currently, I'm an Educational Lead for the department of vascular surgery at University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust.
I was the former Director of Education for the Association of Surgeons in Training (2015–17).
Special interests
Endovenous treatment of veins including foam sclerotherapy, laser treatment and radiofrequency ablation.
Other interests
Hyperhidrosis, thoracic outlet syndrome.
