About
Mr Tang is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, specialising in the assessment, diagnosis and surgical treatment of children’s bone and joint conditions. He provides expert outpatient care within a paediatric orthopaedic clinic, supporting children and adolescents with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
He obtained his medical degree from King’s College London, graduating with Distinction in basic medical sciences, before completing his core surgical training in Nottingham. He subsequently undertook specialist orthopaedic training within the Yorkshire surgical deanery, gaining extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery, trauma and paediatric musculoskeletal conditions.
Following completion of his specialist training and certification, Mr Tang undertook advanced subspecialist training in paediatric orthopaedic surgery at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He further developed his expertise by designing a bespoke fellowship in paediatric and adolescent knee surgery, including advanced training within a leading adult and adolescent knee surgery unit at the Derby Sports Knee department.
Mr Tang manages all aspects of children’s orthopaedic care, including the diagnosis and treatment of bone, joint and soft tissue conditions. His specialist interests include paediatric and adolescent knee pathology, covering ligament injuries, soft tissue conditions and corrective knee procedures. He performs a range of surgical interventions where required, alongside non-operative treatment and rehabilitation plans to support recovery and long-term function.
He is committed to delivering personalised, patient-centred care, with a focus on accurate clinical assessment, clear diagnosis and effective treatment pathways. He works closely with families to ensure children receive the highest standard of care, from initial screening and assessment through to surgery and post-operative rehabilitation.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Tang serves as an active member of the British Army Reserves and is dedicated to improving the delivery of medical care to serving members of His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
