About

I moved to Yorkshire in 2005 to commence specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. During my training, I focused my attention on developing my skills as a gynaecological surgeon, gaining experience across the breadth of benign gynaecology. I developed an interest in gynaecological oncology. I trained in colposcopy and became accredited in 2014; I was awarded the prize for the highest score in the BSCCP Colposcopy accreditation examinations. I developed skills in advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery. I took part in the BSGE Laparoscopic Training Programme; this was a competitive entry training travelling fellowship during which I was taught by the leading laparoscopic gynaecological surgeons in the UK and Europe.

I obtained my certificate of completion of specialist training in 2015 and was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. My primary interests are in:
  • Colposcopy
  • Gynaecological Oncology
  • Benign Gynaecology

At the York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, I am the Gynaecological Cancer Unit Lead. I have busy general gynaecology, colposcopy, rapid access, and oncology clinics. I have experience and a proven track record in diagnosing and treating the full breadth of gynaecological conditions.  

Please note, Mr Brewer performs Vaginal Prolapse Surgery, not including sacrospinous fixation, sacrocolpopexy or colpocleisis.
