About

I am a Consultant Gynaecologist with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of women’s health conditions. I aim to provide clear information, compassionate care, and treatment plans tailored to each individual patient.

Areas of expertise

  • Menstrual problems and heavy or painful periods
  • Fibroids
  • Endometriosis and adenomyosis
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Cervical abnormalities and colposcopy
  • Gynaecological cancer risk-reducing surgery
  • Gynaecological cancer care

I treat the full spectrum of gynaecological conditions, from common benign (non-cancerous) problems to complex and cancer-related conditions.

My NHS practice is based at the York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Cancer Unit Lead. In this role, I lead the gynaecological cancer unit and care for women with suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancers. I also manage complex benign conditions, particularly fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis and ovarian cysts.

I moved to Yorkshire in 2005 to begin my specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. During this time, I focused on developing advanced surgical skills across the full range of benign gynaecology and developed a strong interest in gynaecological oncology.

I became accredited in colposcopy in 2014 and was awarded the prize for achieving the highest score in the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) colposcopy accreditation examinations.

I have undertaken advanced training in laparoscopic (keyhole) gynaecological surgery. Through the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) Laparoscopic Training Programme — a competitive national travelling fellowship — I trained with leading laparoscopic surgeons across the UK and Europe. This allows me to offer minimally invasive surgical options whenever appropriate.

I provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and both medical and surgical management for a wide range of women’s health conditions, always with a focus on achieving the best possible outcomes while supporting patients to feel informed and confident in their care.
