About

Mr Caesar Wek is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon specialising in hip and knee arthritis, with particular expertise in hip replacement, revision hip surgery and knee replacement. He is one of a small number of surgeons in Dorset offering minimally invasive, muscle-sparing hip replacement using the SPAIRE technique, which preserves the tendons around the hip to support an early, confident return to activity.

Mr Wek graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School, having first completed a prize-winning BSc in Orthopaedic Sciences at University College London. He trained in London, including King's College Hospital and St Thomas' and completed fellowships in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and St George's Hospital, London.

He has been a consultant at Dorset County Hospital since 2023, where he is Clinical Lead for Trauma and Hip Fractures. He has published widely, contributed a book chapter on minimally invasive hip replacement and holds postgraduate qualifications in medical education and clinical leadership.

At Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital, Me Wek sees patients with hip and knee pain and offers joint injections, Arthrosamid® knee injections, and hip and knee replacement, with a clear, unhurried and personalised approach.
