About
Mr Benjamin Fisher is a Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in neurovascular surgery, spinal conditions, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) disorders and pituitary tumours.
He provides expert diagnosis, treatment and surgical care for a wide range of brain and spine conditions.
He has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of cerebrovascular disorders, degenerative spinal disease, pituitary tumours and CSF disorders.
Education
Mr Fisher completed his neurosurgical training in the West Midlands before undertaking advanced specialist fellowships.
These included a Royal College of Surgeons-accredited Neurovascular Fellowship at King's College Hospital and a Skull Base Neurosurgery Fellowship at The Walton Centre.
He also completed an observership at the internationally recognised Barrow Neurological Institute.
Leadership and teaching
As Lead Clinician for Neurovascular and CSF Services at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Mr Fisher has played a key role in developing specialist services for patients with complex neurological conditions.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Fisher is committed to medical education and training. As Educational Lead for his department, he regularly presents at national and international meetings and is actively involved in teaching medical students and trainee doctors through Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
