About

Mr Konstantapoulos is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust with an expertise in corneal and cataract surgery.

He graduated from the University of Glasgow and completed his ophthalmology training in hospitals of the Oxford and Wessex Deanery.

Impressed by the beauty of the cornea, Aris specialised in conditions of the anterior segment of the eye. He completed 2 years of advanced training (fellowship) on ‘Cornea and external eye disease’ at University Hospital Southampton and the University of Southampton. His research focused on how to use optical coherence tomography imaging for diagnosis of conditions of the cornea; this work led to the award of a PhD degree and numerous national and international awards.

Following this, he subspecialised in lamellar corneal transplantation and refractive surgery with a fellowship at the Singapore National Eye Centre, one of the most advanced and prestigious institutions in the world. Transferring these skills and knowledge back to the UK, he has now incorporated new ideas and practices into treatment for conditions of the cornea, corneal transplantation and laser refractive surgery.

As a Consultant, Aris aims to provide the most up-to-date treatments for his patients, in a warm and friendly environment.
