About
Andrew Morris has 17 years ophthalmic experience, and has a special interest in Phacoemusification and Vitreoretinal surgery. He studied medicine in London gaining a First class honours, BSc in 1989 and MMBS in 1990.
Andrew specialised in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery with fellowships in Addenbrookes, UK and Vancouver, BC. He was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Royal Bournemouth Hospital in April 2002.
Mr Morris specialises in vitreoretinal and cataract surgery and also undertakes retinal detachment, macular hole repair, macular degeneration, epiretinal membrane, vitreous haemorrhage, retinal vein occlusion, minor eyelid conditions and yag laser treatments. He also undertakes Phacoemulsification a modern cataract surgery in which the eye's internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic handpiece and aspirated from the eye. Aspirated fluids are replaced with irrigation of balanced salt solution to maintain the anterior chamber.
