About

Mr Alanbuki does not see patients under 14 years old.

Mr Ammar Alanbuki has served as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, where he is recognised for leadership in advanced minimally invasive and robotic urological surgery. His clinical practice centres on robotic surgery, robotic Aquablation, minimally invasive prostate surgery, upper tract oncology, complex stone disease, and laparoscopic renal surgery.

Demonstrating a commitment to innovation and surgical excellence, Mr Alanbuki leads the development and expansion of the Trust’s robotic urology programme, advancing the modernisation of prostate and kidney surgery. He has been instrumental in establishing and developing robotic Aquablation therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia, providing patients with image-guided, heat-free waterjet treatment that prioritises precision, safety, and durable functional outcomes. His practice incorporates robotic platforms to improve surgical accuracy, minimise morbidity, and expedite recovery.

Mr Alanbuki completed foundational surgical training in the North-East of England, followed by a research fellowship at Barts and The London NHS Trust, where he contributed to the REDUCE trial (Reduction by Dutasteride of Prostate Cancer Events). This academic experience reinforced his evidence-based approach and sustained involvement in clinical research.

He subsequently completed higher surgical training in the Eastern Deanery, gaining expertise in general urology, and pursued advanced subspecialty training in endourology, complex stone disease, and laparoscopic renal surgery at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
