About

Mr Krishnan performed his undergraduate studies at Newcastle University and completed his basic and higher surgical training in the Yorkshire Deanery. He returned to the North East, completing a clinical Doctorate based at the Northern Oesophago-Gastric Unit at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary. He completed his specialist training in benign laparoscopic upper GI surgery.

Currently, Mr Krishnan works at the York and Scarborough Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Regional Surgical Ambassador for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Honorary President of the medical student HYMS surgical society. He is an Associate Researcher at Newcastle University and is actively involved in research, currently with Oxford University.

He has been trained in a range of complex benign laparoscopic upper GI procedures. He is also trained in a range of open and laparoscopic general surgical procedures including removal of gall bladders and hernia repairs.

Mr Krishnan has a specialist interest in reflux disease and Achalasia, and performs physiology assessment of the upper GI tract, diagnostic tests for reflux and endoscopic anti-reflux treatment using STRETTA.
