Mr Alistair McCleary has been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in York for 21 years, having trained in Cambridge, Oxford, Leeds and Adelaide.
With his colleagues, he built a vascular unit in York that serves all of North Yorkshire and it's now one of the busiest in the UK.
He is the Treasurer of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
