About
Alexander is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the John Radcliffe Major Trauma Centre in Oxford. He graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2012 before undertaking early surgical training in London and higher specialist orthopaedic training in Oxford. Following completion of his specialist training, he undertook two years of advanced fellowship training in complex hip surgery and pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery in Australia and Cambridge.
Since his appointment as a Consultant in Oxford in 2024, Alexander has established a busy specialist practice focused on the treatment of hip conditions in patients of all ages alongside his major trauma practice. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of procedures, from hip arthroscopy to complex primary, revision hip replacement and pelvic reconstruction. While committed to joint preservation wherever possible, he has a particular interest in optimising outcomes following hip replacement surgery through the use of bone-preserving implants, minimally invasive techniques, and tissue-sparing surgical approaches.
Alexander remains actively involved in clinical research and regularly contributes to NIHR-funded studies across Oxford University Hospitals. He is also strongly committed to patient safety and quality improvement, and currently serves as the Clinical Governance Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics in Oxford.
