About
Miss Rachel Healy is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 15 years’ experience in the field, specialising in glaucoma, cataract surgery, and general ophthalmology. She is the Glaucoma Lead at the Bristol Eye Hospital, where she provides expert, evidence-based care tailored to individual patient needs.
Before studying medicine, Miss Healy graduated with First Class Honours in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. She completed her medical degree at Newcastle University, followed by specialist ophthalmology training across the southwest, culminating in a glaucoma fellowship at Bristol Eye Hospital. She also undertook an observership in Birmingham to further refine her expertise in complex glaucoma management.
Rachel plays an active role in research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and international presentations. Her commitment to advancing ophthalmic knowledge complements her clinical practice and teaching.
In addition to her clinical and research work, Rachel holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and actively contributes to training ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals, helping to raise standards across the field.
