About
I'm a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle conditions. I expertly treat a wide range of problems, from minor issues to complex cases, always aiming for the best possible patient outcomes.
My key clinical interests include forefoot surgery, heel pain, sports injuries, foot and ankle arthritis, and tendon problems.
I offer a weekly Tuesday & Friday clinic at the Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital.
Clinical experience
I'm a proud member of One Orthopaedics, a group of specialist orthopaedic consultants aiming to provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions.
I've worked at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford since July 2007 and established my private practice in 2010. With an impressive record of over 6,000 foot and ankle procedures performed, I bring a wealth of experience to my patients.
Approach to patient care
I'm passionate about my field, constantly striving to incorporate new surgical tools and technologies to enhance patient care.
I'm dedicated to using the latest surgical techniques, including advanced keyhole surgery. When surgery isn't needed, I provide expert assessments and guide patients toward recovery through physiotherapy and other treatments like orthotics.
I emphasise clear communication and a strong partnership between the patient, physiotherapist, and surgeon for outstanding results – a philosophy reflected on my clinic's website, Foot Forward Clinic.

Education
I completed my extensive orthopaedic surgery training in the UK, specifically on the London North West training programme after arriving in London in 1999.
In 2007, I achieved the prestigious qualification of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS (Tr & Orth)), a mark of surgical excellence in the UK.
I then dedicated 18 months to specialised Fellowship Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery. This dedicated training included a significant period at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, London, followed by a second year as the Surrey Foot and Ankle Fellow, working at both the Royal Surrey County Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital.
Teaching
Beyond my clinical work, I also hold a Master's Degree in Surgical Education from the University of Toronto, reflecting my commitment to teaching.
I'm actively involved in junior doctor education and training at all levels. I'm the Foundation Year 1 Program Director for the 61 newly qualified doctors who start work at the Royal Surrey Hospital each year. I regularly teach on National Foot and Ankle Courses.
I've been elected to the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) Education Committee am dedicated to teaching and mentoring other surgeons.

Other interests
I'm committed to the care of diabetic patients with foot and ankle problems and I co-run with the Endocrinologists the specialised MDT (multi-disciplinary team) clinics for diabetic patients with foot problems at the RSCH.
I have a Master's Degree in Surgical Education (M. Ed) from the University of Toronto, Canada. Currently, I'm the Foundation Year 1 Program Director for the 61 most junior doctors at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.
I also teach regularly on National Foot and Ankle Courses and am an active member of BOFAS (British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society).
Personal interests
I enjoy Pilates, gardening and cooking, dog walking, hiking and learning tennis.

I've presented and published research on important foot and ankle issues.
I've just co-authored a paper on peroneal tendon injuries and during my fellowship I worked on the role of gastrocnemius tightness in foot and ankle conditions.
