About
Miss Giulia Colavitti is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon with expertise in sarcoma surgery, microsurgical reconstruction, lymphoedema surgery and body contouring.
She trained in Plastic Surgery in Italy before moving to the UK, where she developed her specialist expertise in microsurgical reconstruction at North Bristol NHS Trust. She completed a competitive fellowship in microsurgical breast reconstruction and subsequently worked as a Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Southmead Hospital, where she continues to practise.
Her practice encompasses reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, with particular expertise in complex reconstruction following cancer treatment, breast reconstruction, and lymphoedema surgery. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
Alongside her clinical practice, Miss Colavitti is actively involved in research, education and service development. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed surgical journals and presented her work at national and international conferences. She is also involved in teaching and training future generations of plastic surgeons.
Miss Colavitti combines meticulous surgical technique with a
personalised approach, taking time to understand each patient’s individual
needs and aspirations. She aims to provide thoughtful, evidence-based advice,
with patient safety and satisfaction at the centre of her practice.

Miss Colavitti has extensive experience in research, with publications in peer reviewed journals.
Her current focus of research (October 2026) is on sarcoma treatment and patients quality of life after reconstruction. This involves functional reconstruction, sensory preservation and lymphatic preservation/reconstruction after large sarcoma resection.
Miss Colavitti has also been part of a global connective on electrochemotherapy treatment, and has published on the topic.
