About
Dr Zahra Mownah is an experienced NHS-trained General Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience, providing comprehensive private GP services for patients aged 16 and over.
She studied Medicine at University College London (UCL), graduating in 2009, and also completed an intercalated BSc in Psychology, giving her a strong understanding of both physical and mental health. Following five years of postgraduate training across primary care (GP settings) and secondary care (hospital medicine), she became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2014. She also holds a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and is fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).Dr Zahra Mownah is an experienced GP who has worked in the NHS for more than 10 years. She completed her undergraduate training in 2009 at University College London and, during her time at medical school, also completed an intercalated BSc in Psychology.
After five years of postgraduate training in both primary and secondary care, she became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2014. She gained the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2013. She is GMC-registered.
At Highgate Hospital, Dr Mownah provides comprehensive, continuing care for patients aged 16+. She enjoys being the first point of contact for most healthcare needs and manages a wide range of medical conditions, both acute and chronic.
Zahra lives in North London with her husband, a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, and her two children. Her family are keen sports fans, and they spend much of their free time enjoying women’s football and Formula One.
Special interests
Dr Mownah offers holistic, patient-centred care for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, acting as a first point of contact for general health concerns. She provides:
- Diagnosis and management of acute illnesses (e.g. infections, respiratory symptoms, minor injuries)
- Long-term condition management (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, asthma)
- Women’s health and gynaecological care
While trained to care for patients of all ages, her private practice focuses on adults and young people aged 16+.
