About
Dr Vas Mani is a General Practitioner with a special interest in sports injuries and muscle, joint, and bone problems. He helps patients with pain and injuries affecting joints, muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and bones, as well as other musculoskeletal conditions that can affect everyday life, work, and sport.
Vas qualified as a doctor in 2005 from the University of Leeds and became a fully qualified GP in 2011. Since then, he has completed additional specialist training in Sports and Exercise Medicine and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, allowing him to assess injuries accurately and guide effective treatment. Alongside general practice, Vas has many years of experience working in NHS and military musculoskeletal clinics across Yorkshire. He is used to treating both everyday aches and pains and more complex injuries.
Vas also works in elite professional sport, which keeps him at the forefront of injury diagnosis, rehabilitation, and performance medicine. He is currently:
- Head Doctor at Hull FC Rugby League
- Club Doctor at Hull City AFC
- Health and Wellbeing Doctor at Nuffield Health Harrogate
Previously, he was Head of Medical Services at Leeds Rhinos Rugby League from 2022 to 2025. He has also worked internationally as a team doctor for Fiji Rugby League at the 2021 World Cup and Samoa Rugby League during their 2024 test series against England.
Vas takes a practical, supportive, and patient centred approach, aiming to help people understand their condition clearly and get back to moving comfortably, staying active, and doing the things they enjoy.
