About

Dr. Thiru Bavananthan has been a Consultant Gynaecologist at Wye Valley NHS Trust since 2018, bringing over 20 years of NHS experience in Gynaecology. For the past three years, she has served as the Clinical Director for Gynaecology Services within the Trust.

Dr. Bavananthan completed her initial training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Sri Lanka, followed by postgraduate training in the UK, within the West Midlands region. She provides comprehensive care for a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions, including vaginal prolapse, with particular expertise in ambulatory gynaecology and the management of menstrual disorders and abnormal uterine bleeding.

She is an accredited colposcopist and has a special interest in minimal access surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures. Dr. Bavananthan is committed to delivering personalised, high-quality care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for every woman she treats.
