About
Dr Levy graduated from Bristol University in 1990. He did his initial training in Bristol and then moved to Harefield hospital in 1994 to complete his specialty training in cardiology. He was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Bournemouth Hospital in 2001. He led the cardiac expansion at this hospital which resulted in 2005 full cardiac invasive procedures being available for the first time. This was recognised nationally when he was awarded “Cardiovascular Hospital doctor of the year 2006”. He deals with all aspects of cardiology, such as palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath and dizziness. He has specific interests in interventional cardiology (stent implantation) and hypertension including investigational techniques in its management. Throughout his career Dr Levy has been active in research and has only recently stood down after 6 years as Clinical Director for Research for Royal Bournemouth and subsequently University Hospitals Dorset.
He is very keen on personal fitness and is a regular runner and cyclist and enjoys skiing. He therefore appreciates the concerns individuals can have on their cardiac status and the effect in can have on their active lives.
