About

Dr Suzanne Lane has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at Ipswich Hospital since 2004.

She is interested in all rheumatology disorders including inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathy, psoriatic arthritis, crystal arthritis, gout), connective tissue disease (e.g. Lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome, vasculitis), osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia.

Leadership

She leads the Ipswich Fracture Liaison Service, is Guardian of Safe Working, an Appraiser and enjoys teaching, including doctors in training, GPs and patients.

She has represented British Society of Rheumatology on Clinical Affairs, Education and Heberden Committees. 

Education

She undertook Medical and Specialist training in Birmingham and East Anglia and was awarded an Arthritis Research Fellowship leading to an MD thesis in Primary Systemic Vasculitis.

  • Vasculitis and connective tissue disease (lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome)
  • Polymyalgia and giant cell arteritis
