Dr Stephen Wroe (BA, MB ChB, MD, FRCP) is a highly experienced Consultant Neurologist with a specialist clinical practice spanning more than four decades. He has been practising since 1979, providing expert assessment and management of complex neurological disorders across both the private sector and the NHS.

At Nuffield Health Brentwood & Ipswich Hospitals, Dr Wroe offers comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and ongoing management for a wide spectrum of neurological conditions. His sub-specialist interests include epilepsy, headache and migraine disorders, Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke medicine, memory disorders, dementia, head injury, and the neurological consequences of trauma. He provides Botulinum Toxin injections for migraines, or other neurological conditions.

Dr Wroe’s clinical expertise is complemented by an extensive academic and research background. He has authored research papers in epilepsy, dementia, and headache, contributing to the evidence base that informs modern neurological practice.

He holds consultant posts across several major centres, including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London, one of the UK’s leading tertiary neuroscience institutions. He also provides neurological services in Ipswich, Cambridge, Brentwood, and Romford, reflecting his broad regional practice across East Anglia, Essex and London.

Dr Wroe is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and an active member of multiple professional bodies, including the Association of British Neurologists (where he has served as Assistant Secretary), the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Epilepsy Society.

In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr Wroe has extensive experience in medico‑legal neurology, providing expert witness reports and court evidence, and is a founder member of the Ipswich Medico‑legal Society. His medico‑legal expertise includes neurological trauma, head injury, epilepsy, and long‑term neurological disability.
