About

Dr Simon Paul is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Sports Physician. He specialises in joint, soft tissue and spinal musculoskeletal conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, gout, widespread pain syndromes, neck and back pain.

Dr Paul graduated from University College London in 1994. He set up in private practice in 2017 but continues to treat NHS patients in Surrey. He has also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Osteopathy.

His speciality training was with the RAF and NHS. He also served with the RAF in the UK and overseas. He gained experience at a number of specialist units in London, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and St George’s Hospital. In 2006, he was appointed as an RAF Consultant at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court where at various times, he was Lead Consultant responsible for back pain problems, neurological rehabilitation and complex medical rehabilitation.

He helped develop MOD-wide policy on neck pain rehabilitation and chronic pain management. Much of Dr Paul's focus is on returning patients to their best physical, mental and psychosocial state following illness or injury, so they are able to return to work.
