About

Dr Raouf specialises in the use of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and targeted cancer treatments. He has particular expertise in:

  • Pancreatic cancer

  • Colon and rectal cancer

  • Oesophageal and stomach cancers

  • Neuroendocrine tumours

  • Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST)

  • Cancer of unknown primary

  • Spinal metastases

  • Peritoneal tumours

  • Head and neck cancers

  • Lung cancer

  • Keloid radiotherapy

He is skilled in advanced radiotherapy techniques, including:

  • RapidArc (VMAT) radiotherapy

  • SABR (Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy)

  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

  • CyberKnife

  • MR Linac–guided radiotherapy

These technologies allow highly precise targeting of tumours while minimising radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissues.

Special interests

Dr Raouf has a special interest in treating pancreatic cancers with radiation and well as using novel therapies in treating cancers like immunotherapy.

Research

Dr Raouf research interest has been through participating in clinical trials.  He has published many articles on GI cancers and presented both nationally and internationally on GI cancers.

Dr Raouf’s research interests include cancer epidemiology, chemo‑radiotherapy, and the development of novel cancer therapies, including immunotherapy.

He is a member of several leading international oncology organisations:

  • European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO)

  • American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO)

  • American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)

He is also a regular guest lecturer at international conferences and contributes to clinical education and service development across the UK.
