Research
Dr Kolhe's research interest is acute kidney injury (AKI) and health economics associated with AKI. He is local principal investigator for European Trial of Extended Haemodialysis in Light Chain Nephropathy, a study which looks at renal and survival outcome in patients with cast nephropathy by randomising them to high cut off haemodialysis. He also has a research interest in long term outcome of acute renal failure.
Dr Kolhe is a member of Acute Renal Injury Research in Derby (ARID) group and leading a prospective research in epidemiology of AKI studying the role of nephrology input in the outcome especially in relation to mortality and development of chronic kidney disease over a period of 10 years. He is researching renovascular hypertension and effect of vascular intervention on long term effect on renal outcome.
