About
I am a Consultant Neurologist with over 20 years of experience. I assess and treat people with a wide range of neurological symptoms. These are conditions that affect the brain, nerves and muscles.
I run general neurology clinics in Nottingham and Derby. I have over 15 years of experience managing both short‑term (acute) and long‑term (chronic) conditions.
I am an Honorary Associate Professor in Clinical Neurology at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. I am also Clinical Director of the International Centre for Excellence in Parkinson’s Disease at the University of Nottingham.
I have also worked as a neurologist in a specialist service for memory and dementia. This has given me strong experience in assessing memory problems and managing dementia, including complex cases.

I am particularly well known for my work in Parkinson’s disease. I have a national and international reputation in this area.

Research
Dr Bajaj has extensive experience in clinical trials in Parkinson’s disease and dementia. He is a co-applicant on PROBAND (Tracking Parkinson’s disease - £1.63M) and an MRC DPFMS grant on Alzheimer’s (£900K). He has been involved in several collaborative projects in imaging (MRI and SPECT) as applied to degenerative disorders and an extensive publication record. Dr Bajaj has been a committee member of the Parkinson’s Clinical Studies Group of DeNDRoN (Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases network) for 6 years.
He is extensively published in basic science and clinical translational work in neurodegenerative disorders. Dr Bajaj has a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from University of London and an MA in Pharmacology (First Class) from Cambridge.
