About
I am a Consultant Rheumatologist in Cambridge practising at Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and Addenbrooke’s Hospital. I specialise in diagnosing and managing a wide range of musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. My clinical work covers all aspects of rheumatology, including arthritis, osteoarthritis, inflammatory conditions and complex pain disorders, with a particular interest in chronic pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
I trained at Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge and St Johns College in Oxford graduating with awards from both institutions before completing specialist training in general medicine and rheumatology across leading teaching hospitals in London. Alongside my clinical training, I undertook a PhD at the University of Bath, focusing on the underlying mechanisms of pain, which continues to inform my approach to patient care and treatment.
I am currently Clinical Director for Rheumatology at Cambridge University Hospitals, where I have led the development of services to improve access and outcomes for patients across Cambridge and the wider East of England. I remain actively involved in research, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and a continued focus on improving understanding and treatment of complex pain conditions.
As Chair of the CRPS-UK Registry and a founding member of the CRPS-UK Network, I work nationally to improve awareness, diagnosis and management of CRPS, supporting both patients and clinicians. I am also involved in wider initiatives within the British Society for Rheumatology and UK research networks, helping to shape advancements in rheumatology and musculoskeletal care.
