About
Dr Neeraj Purohit is a Consultant Sports & Musculoskeletal Radiologist. He graduated from the University of Sheffield Medical School in 2001.
After successfully completing a basic surgical training rotation, he undertook an MSc at University College London in the field of skeletal tissue biology. Following three years as an orthopaedic registrar, Dr Purohit was selected onto the Wessex Clinical Radiology Training Programme and attained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR). He subsequently completed a yearlong subspecialty fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, UK, where he gained extensive experience in complex orthopaedic imaging, radiofrequency ablation, and bone and soft tissue sarcoma imaging and biopsy.
Dr Purohit also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine (with distinction) from the University of South Wales.
Dedicated to medical education and research, Dr Purohit holds a position as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Southampton and is a Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University, supporting his ongoing teaching and academic research interests.
He maintains close working relationships with elite athletes
and professional sports clubs, including Premier League football teams,
providing specialised imaging and tailored therapeutic interventions to
facilitate rapid recovery and return to play.

Other interests
He enjoys spending time with his wife
and 2 boys. He plays the guitar, coaches grass roots football and plays competitive
tennis in a local league.
