About
I am a Consultant Cardiologist based at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital. I specialise in general heart conditions, heart scanning and the management of heart failure.
I provide personalised care using modern tests and treatments. My aim is to diagnose your condition clearly and help you manage your heart health.
I work in both the NHS and private sector. I have been a Consultant Cardiologist at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust since 2015. I also see private patients at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital. I work as a visiting consultant at Nottingham City Hospital and Royal Stoke Hospital.
I also have leadership roles within the cardiology team. I help to manage and improve heart services for patients.
I assess and treat a wide range of heart conditions, including:
- Chest pain (angina, caused by reduced blood flow to the heart)
- Palpitations and irregular heart rhythms
- Shortness of breath
- Dizziness and blackouts
- Heart failure (when the heart cannot pump properly)
- Swelling of the legs, known as oedema
Training and experience
I completed my medical training and gained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2007. I then completed specialist cardiology training in the UK. This included advanced training at the Bristol Heart Institute.
I hold a European accreditation in cardiac MRI, which is a detailed heart scan. I am also a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist, trained in managing devices such as pacemakers.
