About
Dr Mo Shah is a consultant interventional cardiologist. He completed his intercalated medical degree at the University of Manchester, where he graduated with national academic prizes.
Following academic and general medical training in Manchester, he moved to London for specialist cardiology training. He was awarded a British Heart Foundation–funded PhD at UCL, working with international teams in Norway and South Africa to explore the immune mechanisms underlying heart attacks.
After completing his PhD, Mo returned to full-time NHS practice, undertaking advanced interventional training in London centers. He now works as a consultant interventional cardiologist across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, East Kent University Hospitals, and St Thomas’ Hospital, London.
His expertise lies in complex percutaneous coronary intervention and preventative cardiology, and he has published widely in areas including lipid metabolism, coronary intervention, and cellular immunology.
