About
Dr Mike Harris is an experienced consultant cardiologist specialising in general paediatric cardiology.
His NHS work is undertaken at the world-renowned Birmingham Children’s Hospital. He has a first-class degree in Biochemistry and went on to graduate in Medicine from Cambridge University. He undertook paediatric training in the West Midlands and Oxford before training in paediatric cardiology in Leicester, Birmingham, and London. His sub-speciality interest is fetal cardiology, but he has wide experience in managing children of all ages — from newborn babies to young adults — with all forms of heart disease.
He has expertise in assessing and managing heart murmurs, fainting, palpitations, chest pain, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, arrhythmia (non-invasive), cardiac conditions that run in families, cardiac screening for ADHD and all forms of structural heart disease.
He has authored and co-authored several journal articles on topics in paediatric cardiology, and has published chapters in books related to paediatric and fetal cardiology.
