About
Dr Durrani's post-graduate training in Rheumatology was extensive and included experience at several tertiary care centres including Guys & St Thomas and Kings College hospital. He is accredited both in general medicine as well as Rheumatology.
He worked at King's college hospital as Consultant Rheumatologist before moving to Leicester recently. His particular clinical interests and expertise are in back pain, inflammatory arthritis, soft tissue rheumatism, connective tissue disease, bone conditions, muscle disorders and osteoarthritis. His clinical interests are facilitated by his expertise in ultrasound, which he uses in the diagnosis of arthritis as well as guided joint and spinal procedures like epidurals.
Dr Durrani is a clinical lead for muscle disease in Leicester university hospitals and has started a tertiary care Myositis clinic.
He has a simple principle that all his patients should be treated as he would like himself and his family members to be treated. He tries to help his patients understand their condition in simple terms and talks about investigations and management options based on their individual circumstances. Age range 16+
