Dr Julie Kite

Dr Kite trained at Southampton University medical school and then completed GP training firstly based in Portsmouth and then Cardiff.

She worked as a GP and a staff grade doctor in adult psychiatry in South Wales until she moved to Ipswich with her husband and first child in 1999, so that Mr Kite could take over his father’s Optometry practice in the town centre.

Since 2000 she has worked as GP in Ipswich, most recently as a partner with Suffolk Primary Care based at Deben Road and then Derby Road surgeries. 

 Dr Kite left the partnership in May 2023 to pursue her interest in menopause care whilst caring for elderly parents and experiencing the peri-menopause herself. She continues to offer her services as a Locum GP in the Suffolk area in several different practices.

She is a member of the British Menopause Society and was the lead clinician within her practice for all things menopause.

She completed the British Menopause Society advanced certificate in the principles and practice of menopause care in 2025 and is now a registered British Menopause Society menopause specialist.

In her clinics, Dr Kite offers a listening ear and advice about navigating the menopause. She can prescribe HRT (oestrogen, progestogen and testosterone)

Dr Kite has always endeavoured to be a doctor who actively listens to the concerns of her patients, offering help and advice in a caring, unhurried and friendly way.
