Dr Gerry Saldanha

Dr Saldanha has been a Consultant Neurologist since 2000, providing expert care in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of neurological conditions. He holds weekly general neurology clinics at Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital alongside his NHS practice.

In his NHS role at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Dr Saldanha is involved in the care of acutely unwell patients with neurological disorders, contributing to prompt clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Training, leadership and education

Dr Saldanha has played a key role in the training and development of neurologists. He previously served as Training Programme Director for Neurology in South London, a role he held for several years. He also served as Chair of the Pan London Training Committee, overseeing neurology training and supporting junior doctors in their career progression.

He continues to contribute to postgraduate education as an Educational Supervisor for neurology registrars within his Trust.

Education and clinical experience

Dr Saldanha obtained a degree in Chemistry at the University of Oxford, which included a pharmacological research project. He then qualified in Medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital, London.

He completed specialist neurology training at several London hospitals, including a Senior Registrar post at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. In 2000, he was appointed Consultant Neurologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

He is also an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London.
