Dr Farhan Shahid

Dr Farhan Shahid is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise & Musculoskeletal Medicine (SEM), and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise Medicine (FFSEM). He has a breadth of experience in managing musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, and exercise-related medical issues. Farhan completed his Sport & Exercise Medicine (SEM) Higher Specialist training in the prestigious London Deanery, at leading institutions including the Imperial College, University College London Hospitals and Barts NHS Trusts, following training in General Practice in Warwickshire. 

Farhan has extensive and widespread experience in the elite sport and the athlete care setting. He is a Consultant at the UK Sports Institute (UKSI) at Bisham Abbey, providing care for Team GB elite athletes on the world-class programme. He has worked previously in the Premier League as Club Doctor for Brentford Football Club and for the Football Association (FA) as a team doctor for England Men’s Pathway development squads, managing professional elite footballers at club and national level. He has treated athletes from various disciplines of elite sport, previously working at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), EIS multisport clinics and at the National NHS Dance Injury Clinic, treating professional dancers. 

Farhan is the President for the Sport & Exercise Medicine section at the iconic Royal Society of Medicine, where he leads the council in organising world-class SEM conferences. He enjoys educational delivery and has lectured at the UCL and Barts MSc in Sports Medicine programmes, as well as public health exercise medicine-focused research. Farhan is passionate in providing a patient-focused, holistic approach to musculoskeletal care. He aims to deliver a one-stop service involving an accurate diagnosis and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal, sports and exercise-related conditions for all age groups from children to veteran exercisers and athletes.
