Dr Ellen Golightly

Dr Ellen Golightly is a highly experienced Consultant in Gynaecology and Sexual and Reproductive Health, with specialist expertise in menopause and perimenopause care. She is fully accredited by the British Menopause Society (BMS), recognising advanced knowledge in the assessment and treatment of complex menopause‑related symptoms.

She provides personalised, evidence‑based menopause care for women with complex medical histories, early or surgical menopause, ongoing symptoms despite previous HRT, or contraindications to standard hormone replacement therapy. Dr Golightly is particularly sought after by patients who require specialist menopause advice and an individualised approach to treatment.

In addition to menopause care, her clinical expertise includes medical gynaecology, complex contraception, and sexual and reproductive health, supporting women across all stages of life.

Dr Golightly qualified in medicine from the University of Edinburgh and completed specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in South‑East Scotland. She holds MRCOG and FSRH qualifications, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and has extensive NHS Consultant experience, currently practising at the Chalmers Centre in Edinburgh.
