About
Dr Hanumantharaya is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, where he has been practising since 2016. He provides expert outpatient assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions within a specialist clinic setting, with particular expertise in liver, pancreatic and biliary diseases.
He completed specialist training in gastroenterology at leading centres of excellence, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and University College Hospital London. He then undertook advanced fellowship training in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary medicine, alongside specialist training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at the Royal Free Hospital and University College Hospital London.
Dr Hanumantharaya has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of complex digestive disorders. His clinical practice includes the investigation and treatment of conditions affecting the liver, pancreas and biliary system, using both non-invasive assessment techniques and advanced endoscopic procedures.
He regularly performs a range of advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), gallstone removal, biliary stenting and pancreatic endotherapy. These minimally invasive procedures support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment, often avoiding the need for more invasive surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Hanumantharaya has published on a variety of topics in gastroenterology, hepatology and pancreatology, contributing to ongoing research, education and advancement in digestive health.
He is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, focusing on thorough clinical assessment, clear diagnosis and personalised treatment plans. He supports patients throughout their care pathway, from initial consultation and diagnostic investigation through to treatment, follow-up and long-term management.
