Dr Devi Priya Rathna Sabapathi is a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist at University Hospital Southampton, UK.
After completing her medical degree in India, she underwent training in Emergency medicine and core medical specialities in the UK between 2005 and 2011. She obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2011. She achieved her Certificate of Completion of Training in Clinical Neurophysiology in 2018, following extensive specialist training in both Neurology and Neurophysiology at leading UK institutions, including the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Liverpool and the Wessex Neurology Centre in Southampton.
Dr Rathnasabapathi has wide-ranging expertise in electrodiagnostic testing, including EMG, Nerve conduction studies, EEG, Evoked potentials and advanced neurophysiological techniques such as single-fibre EMG. She has a particular interest in neuromuscular disorders and neuromuscular ultrasound.
An active contributor to research, Dr Rathnasabapathi has authored publications in Brain, JAMA Neurology, and the Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine. She regularly presents at national and international conferences and is a member of the British Society of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Beyond her clinical commitments, she is deeply engaged in teaching, mentorship and service development.
