About
Dr Rudd is a Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology based at the Hurstwood Park Centre in Haywards Heath. He works with adults and children to diagnose conditions affecting the brain, nerves and muscles. His clinic focuses on clear diagnosis and practical treatment plans for complex neurological symptoms.
He graduated with distinction in Medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2006. He began his career in neurology at St George’s Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of neurological disorders. He then completed specialist training in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Royal London Hospital, with further experience at Great Ormond Street Hospital, including paediatric cases and specialised diagnostic procedures.
Dr Rudd has a strong clinical interest in neuromuscular disorders and epilepsy. His work supports the diagnosis and ongoing management of conditions such as muscle disease, nerve disorders, seizure disorders and unexplained neurological symptoms. He uses a range of advanced diagnostic tests to guide care, including electroencephalography (EEG) to assess brain activity, electromyography (EMG) to evaluate muscle and nerve function, and evoked potentials to study how the nervous system responds to stimuli.
In his clinic, Dr Rudd assesses symptoms such as weakness, numbness, pain, blackouts and suspected seizures. His approach is structured but practical. He focuses on reaching an accurate diagnosis and explaining it in clear, simple terms. This helps patients understand their condition and the next steps in their treatment or therapy.
He works closely with neurology, medical and surgical teams where needed to ensure patients receive joined-up care. His aim is always to support timely diagnosis and guide effective treatment, helping patients move forward with confidence.
