About
Dr Mitchell began his specialist neurology training in Wellington, New Zealand in 2011 and completed advanced training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London. Since completing his training, he has held consultant neurologist posts across West Sussex, Newcastle, Cardiff and Hereford, gaining extensive experience in both acute and outpatient neurology services.
Dr Mitchell provides expert neurological assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of conditions within a dedicated clinic setting. His clinical interests include acute neurology, headache disorders (including migraine), epilepsy, and general neurological conditions. He is experienced in managing both newly presenting symptoms and complex or long-term neurological conditions, supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care.
His approach focuses on clear communication, thorough clinical assessment and evidence-based treatment planning. He aims to minimise unnecessary investigations while ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective management. Where appropriate, he supports patients with long-term therapy and follow-up to optimise outcomes and quality of life.
Dr Mitchell strongly believes that a collaborative approach between doctor and patient is essential to achieving the best clinical outcomes. He works closely with patients to develop personalised treatment plans, ensuring they are fully informed and involved at every stage of their care pathway.
