Dr Claire Gillvray

Dr Claire Gillvray qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 1999. She initially trained in Psychiatry before retraining as a GP. She has worked as an NHS GP Partner, Appraiser and Trainer in both London and Bristol, and previously ran her own private practice in London.

Claire is certified in Lifestyle Medicine and is also a qualified personal trainer and nutritionist and is the current Lifestyle Medicine Lead for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. Her clinical approach is rooted in holistic, preventative care, with a strong focus on optimising health and addressing the root causes of chronic disease. She has extensive experience across all areas of General Practice, with particular interests in mental health, addictions, eating disorders, weight management and musculoskeletal medicine.

She has a long-standing passion for Sports and Exercise Medicine, completing a Master’s degree at the University of Bath in 2010. She has worked with both professional and amateur athletes, and is the current CUBC boat club doctor, integrating medical care with performance, recovery, and long-term health.

Alongside her clinical work, Claire is a clinical entrepreneur with a strong interest in digital health innovation and is involved in digital health development through the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

Outside of work, she balances family life with three young daughters and competes as a triathlete, racing at an elite level for Team Ireland.
