About
Dr Steadman trained at the University of Bristol and qualified in 1999. He moved to Birmingham in 2004 for his specialist training in cardiology which included two years at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and he also worked at two other tertiary cardiac centres in the Midlands. Dr Steadman is on the Specialist Register with the General Medical Council for Cardiology and General (Internal) Medicine and specialises in a wide range of cardiovascular problems.
His particular interest is in advanced cardiovascular imaging and non-invasive diagnostics. He has level 3 Accreditation in cardiac MRI from the European Society of Cardiology, the highest level, and was one of the first people in the UK to achieve this. He also is accredited in cardiac CT coronary angiography with the British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging. He is accredited in transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography with the British Society of Echocardiography and also specialises in stress echocardiography. He was a Clinical Research Fellow for over 2 years for the British Heart Foundation and National Institute for Health Research resulting in many presentations at national and international meetings, peer reviewed publications, and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree.

Personal interests
Dr Steadman plays tennis regularly and enjoys music, including playing the guitar. He lives in Poole with his family and enjoys living close to the beach.

Research
Dr Steadman has 25 PubMed referenced peer reviewed research articles. He is an author of over 40 scientific abstracts presented at national and international conferences. In 2011 he was the only UK finalist in the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Early Career Award and in the same year won Second Prize in the Investigators Award at the British Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
