About

Dr Catherine Fardon is a highly experienced General Practitioner with over 11 years as an NHS GP Partner in North Islington, providing comprehensive, patient-centred care across both NHS and private practice.

She graduated from University College London (UCL) in 2004 and completed five years of postgraduate training across primary and secondary care, gaining broad clinical experience in managing both acute and long-term medical conditions. She became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and is fully GMC registered, with successful revalidation in December 2023.

Special interests

Dr Fardon takes a holistic, evidence-based approach to general practice, supporting patients with:

  • Acute illness assessment and treatment
  • Chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease)
  • Preventative health and screening
  • Mental wellbeing and lifestyle-related conditions

She has extensive experience caring for patients across all life stages within the NHS and continues to provide high-quality, personalised GP care in private practice.

Specialist Interest in Lifestyle Medicine

Dr Fardon has a particular interest in Lifestyle Medicine, focusing on preventing and managing chronic disease through evidence-based lifestyle interventions. Her areas of expertise include:

  • Cardiovascular risk reduction (e.g. cholesterol, blood pressure, metabolic health)
  • Nutrition and diet optimisation
  • Physical activity and exercise medicine
  • Stress management and mental wellbeing
  • Sleep health and behavioural change

She holds a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM, 2022) and is trained in health and wellbeing coaching (PCI Level 1 accreditation), enabling her to support long-term, sustainable behaviour change.

Gut Health and Microbiome

Dr Fardon is also undertaking further training in the science of the gut microbiome, exploring its role in digestive health, immunity, metabolism, and chronic disease. She integrates this emerging evidence into her clinical practice, where appropriate, to support overall health and wellbeing.

Approach to Patient Care

Dr Fardon is passionate about empowering patients to take control of their health. She works collaboratively to help individuals understand the connection between lifestyle factors and long-term health outcomes, developing personalised, practical care plans.

Her approach combines clinical expertise with coaching principles, focusing on prevention, education, and sustainable health improvements, rather than simply treating symptoms.
