About
Dr Beth Fitzmaurice is an experienced pain specialist who helps people manage a wide range of long-term and complex pain conditions. She supports patients with problems such as back and neck pain, joint pain, nerve pain, pain after injuries or surgery, abdominal and pelvic pain, and complex regional pain syndrome.
She has a particular interest in chronic widespread pain and fibromyalgia, and has completed a PhD in this area. Dr Fitzmaurice takes time to listen, understand your symptoms, and carry out a thorough examination.
When needed, she can arrange and interpret scans to help make an accurate diagnosis. She works closely with patients to create personalised treatment plans and carefully tailored medication approaches that support rehabilitation and long-term wellbeing.
Dr Fitzmaurice completed her medical training at the University of Birmingham in 2011. She has worked in many leading hospitals across the West Midlands, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
She completed her specialist pain training at Birmingham City Hospital, one of the region’s busiest pain centres, where she spent over five years leading multi-disciplinary clinics and performing a high volume of pain-relieving procedures. She also developed advanced nerve and regional injection skills at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
