Dr An Janssen is an experienced and compassionate GP with over 20 years' experience in General Practice. She is committed to providing accessible, personalised healthcare with longer appointment times, continuity of care and a thorough, patient-centred approach. Dr Janssen sees both adults and children and manages a wide range of acute and ongoing health concerns.

Dr Janssen runs private GP clinics at Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital, offering prompt access to medical advice, diagnosis, treatment and specialist referrals where appropriate. She believes in taking the time to understand each patient's individual circumstances and healthcare needs, enabling a tailored approach to care and helping patients make informed decisions about their health.

Dr Janssen provides consultations for a broad range of health concerns including general medical problems, women's health, contraception, menopause and HRT discussions, cervical screening, travel health advice, selected vaccinations, basic health assessments and preventive healthcare.

In addition to routine GP consultations, Dr Janssen offers a number of specialist medical assessments, including HGV/D4 medicals, fit-to-work assessments, fit-to-fly assessments, motorsport medicals, and selected visa and occupational health examinations. Please note that these assessments require extended appointment times and cannot currently be booked online. Patients wishing to arrange a medical assessment should contact the medical secretary directly for advice and booking arrangements.

As Dr Janssen does not have access to NHS medical records, patients are encouraged to bring details of their current medications, relevant medical history, investigation results and specialist correspondence whenever possible.

Education and Clinical Experience

Dr Janssen began her medical studies at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium before moving to the UK in 1999 to specialise in General Practice. She completed her GP training through the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, including placements at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

Following her training, she gained valuable international medical experience working with Raleigh International in Chile, volunteering for the Himalayan Rescue Association in Nepal, serving as a Medical Officer with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia, and working on ski fields in New Zealand.

Since returning to the UK in 2006, Dr Janssen has worked as a GP in Devon and Somerset and enjoys all aspects of family medicine. She has a particular interest in women's health, including contraception, menopause care and preventive healthcare.
