About

Dr Amit Verma is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine with extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal (MSK) and sports-related injuries.

He provides tailored, evidence-based care for individuals at all levels of physical activity – from elite athletes to members of the public – with a focus on early diagnosis, holistic management, and a safe return to activity.

Dr Verma regularly manages a wide range of conditions, including acute trauma and chronic overuse injuries affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints.

He also treats exercise-related medical issues such as fatigue, underperformance, breathing difficulties (including exercise-induced asthma), and sport-related concussion. His clinical approach combines advanced imaging and targeted interventions with personalised rehabilitation and lifestyle optimisation to support long-term recovery.

In addition to his private practice, Dr Verma holds key roles in elite sports medicine. He is the Head of Pathway Medicine for all England men’s football teams at The Football Association’s National Football Centre.

 He has most recently served as First Team Doctor for Huddersfield Town AFC, in addition to his previous combined first team and academy roles with Liverpool FC, Burnley FC, and Huddersfield Giants Rugby League. He has supported athletes at major international events, including the Commonwealth Games and Olympic-led British Cycling preparations.

He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence, research, and collaborative practice. Dr Verma has also worked within the NHS as part of Manchester and Liverpool Community MSK Services.
